Meet the Guys

Sammy Royal
Sammy has been playing music since he was 12 and had a band early in his teens. It was called the Saplin boys band but later on he also played with a few derelict bands.
Merle , Waylon , Willie and Hank were Sammy’s biggest influences and he brings it all to the Vintage Cowboys with his vocals and acoustic guitar.
Sammy resides in Horseshoe Beach with his wife Kim and they have 5 children.

Jeremy Cole
Jeremy started playing piano in 3rd grade and moved to bass guitar in middle school. In 9th grade Jeremy was a member of Gold Rush along with his sister and other friends who loved to play country music. Jeremy also plays drums, piano and the electric guitar.
Jeremy took a couple of years to go to college where he met his wife Kiley and they have 2 daughters and a granddaughter.
Jeremy got a double dose of music talent from his family. Jeremy’s dad Bubba Cole played piano and bass guitar for the southern gospel group the Singing Reps. His mom‘s cousin Mitch Sands played with the Mercy Mountain Boys and could play piano, guitar, banjo, mandolin and fiddle.
Jeremy continues to work on his music and vocals. He is also writing some songs. His influences are Brooks and Dunn, Mark Wills and Restless Heart.

Nick Messina
Nicholas has been playing instruments from a very young age and mainly plays the fiddle and the mandolin. Nicholas has also started singing lead on a couple of songs and does a great job. Nicholas loves real country music and his influences are Keith Whitley, Joe Diffie, Alan Jackson and Zach Top.
Nicholas is the worship leader at his church and is married to his beautiful wife Shelbi.  In his spare time he likes hunting and spending time with his family and friends. Sometimes you may see Nicholas sharing the stage with his brother Aidan who is was also a member of the Vintage Cowboys.

Donny Weatherford
Donny has been playing drums and been a singer and songwriter professionally for over 40 years.
Donny began playing drums at the age of 14, he has since performed with multiple major Country Music Artists, as well as Southern Gospel and Christian Country Artists. He’s also spent many years with a major Sound and Lighting Production Company.
Donny has recorded numerous times on tracks for local and regional artists, as well as with personal bands (many of these were recorded in Nashville). When asking Donny one of his favorite highlights throughout his career - “Playing drums and singing with Vern Gosdin!”.
Just a tib bit, Donny played in the southern gospel group, the Singing Reps along with Jeremy’s dad Bubba. The Singing Reps recorded in Nashville on Sugar Mountains record label and performed at the southern gospel convention in Nashville before 40,000 people.
Donny has one son and lives in Lake City, FL.

Bobby Dodd
Bobby plays the steel guitar, lead guitar, and dobro. He has played locally in the North Florida area for many years. Bobby played in numerous bands while serving stateside and in Germany while he served our country in the Army.
Bobby has also opened for numerous country artists in “Crosstyz”band. He played steel guitar for Mel Tillis on several of his sponsored Shriner benefits.
Bobby is actively promoting and helping musicians and singers in his community.
Bobby is married to Marlene, they have two sons and three grandsons. Bobby and Marlene also have a great granddaughter. They reside in Steinhatchee, Florida.

Tommy Powell
Tommy played in the Late 60’s-early 70’s-went full time music. Aucoin Mgmt NYC/ Sean Delaney & Trust. Mid 70’s Rock n Roll Revival tour. Backup musician to chuck berry, Bo Didley, chubby checker, the 5 satins, coasters, drifters, numerous acts from the 50s and 60s. Original singer songwriter Hank Cordell late 70s mid 80s.
Tommy moved to Florida and fronted the Last Chance Band playing country music.
Mid 90s worship music/leader to present.
Joined up with the VC in March 2025.
